poem

The pain in the faces
The battles over races

They just want to run
but are being pointed at with a gun

Young children are crying
because their parents are dying

Bodies covered in blood
The tears created a flood

The bombs hitting the ground
No one was left to be found

The meaning behind the poem is to express the loss and death seen in war. It shows how adults and children are killed. The pain, feelings, and sights show how war can hurt and leave permanent damage on the mind. This connects to all of the poems and stories we read because the topic in the stories and poem is loss and they share a theme of inhumanity in war.

  1. This shows a lot about the full description of war. It gives a good visual image of life with a family member in war. It shows the general theme of loss throughout both short stories as well.

  2. In all the stories and poems we read, war has only caused pain and loss. But I never noticed the in humanity of war.
